Mold!
Mold is increasingly becoming a serious health risk for homeowners across the country. In order to reproduce, molds release tiny spores just as plants produce seeds. The spores settle on surfaces and, when conditions are favorable, they begin to consume organic material in their immediate vicinity. Steel is not organic so it won't contribute to the spread of mold! Additionally, homes built with steel framing have straighter walls and fewer cracks than homes built with wood, therefore reducing the chances of leaks within the framing of a home that will contribute to the dangerous high moisture content where mold thrives. Don't forget about steel's inherent strength and noncombustible qualities which enable a steel frame home to resist such devastating events as fires, earthquakes, floods, and hurricanes.
